Dr. Lavern Terrell

Programs Manager

Dr. Lavern Terrell has spent her life as an educator, always with the belief that education can change the world. After earning her bachelor's degree in music, Dr. Terrell taught general vocal music to K-6 students in Upstate New York. She felt compelled to do more to help students, so Dr. Terrell moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she earned her master’s degree in counseling. Upon completion of her master’s, she worked for East Tennessee State University as a counselor for college students. From there, Dr. Terrell earned her doctorate in educational leadership with the hopes of founding her own school. However, instead of starting a school, she began teaching at the college level to train students to become teachers. After years of teaching at several colleges and universities, Dr. Terrell has come to ALLMemphis as a programs manager, where she can continue to change the world – one student at a time.
