Elizabeth believes all students deserve high-quality foundational literacy instruction. Elizabeth moved to Memphis in 2011 to attend Rhodes College, during which time she volunteered and tutored in local schools while earning her bachelor’s degree in psychology. This is when Elizabeth developed an overwhelming passion for equitable education in Memphis. Following her time at Rhodes, Elizabeth joined the Memphis Teacher Residency and earned a master’s in urban education from Union University. In addition, Elizabeth obtained her education specialist degree in reading from Arkansas State University and a special education certificate from Lincoln Memorial University. She holds Tennessee teaching endorsements in Elementary Education K-6; SPED Comprehensive K-12; and Reading Specialist PreK-12. Prior to joining the ALLMemphis team, Elizabeth served as a lead kindergarten teacher and teacher mentor in the Frayser neighborhood of Memphis. Now as a program specialist, Elizabeth is excited to partner and empower teachers so they are equipped with the necessary tools to support all students.
