Danielle believes a joyful introduction to reading and writing can change the trajectory of a child’s life. Through literacy and language, we are gifted the ability to connect deeply with those who are here with us, those who came before us, and those who will come after us. Danielle believes that every student, regardless of background, deserves to be part of this time-honored tradition. After earning a bachelor's degree in public relations from Harding University, Danielle became a Teach For America corps member and relocated to Memphis. In her six years working in elementary education, she supported both students and teachers in a variety of roles. Before stepping into her current role, she taught the ALLMemphis curriculum and saw firsthand its positive effect on children, crediting much of her success as a teacher to the support of her ALLMemphis literacy coaches. Danielle is excited to dive deeper into the science and practice of teaching reading while championing the need for knowledgeable, well-prepared practitioners in every classroom. She is passionate about equipping teachers with the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to create highly effective learning environments and amplify the voices of all students. Outside of work, Danielle enjoys spending time with her husband and son, and the never-ending process of decluttering her home.
