amadero@allmemphis.org

Alexis believes that reading brings opportunity, knowledge, and joy. Combining her love of reading and educational equity, Alexis moved to Memphis to become part of the Memphis Teacher Residency in 2018 while earning a master’s degree in urban education at Union University. A passion for teaching students to excel in reading led Alexis to continue her education with Memphis Teacher Residency and to earn a reading specialist certification at Christian Brother's University. Alexis has taught in Memphis Shelby County Schools and served as a literacy laureate to coach other educators in her school building. After teaching the ALLMemphis curriculum and seeing the impact on her students, Alexis chose to join the team as a program specialist. Alexis strives to ignite a passion for literacy in other educators by supporting, encouraging, and giving them the tools to build students as readers.
