Addie believes that all students deserve access to high-quality literacy instruction because it is the foundation for critical thinking and life-long learning. Literacy is more than just reading and writing - it’s the key to understanding the world and participating fully in society. Addie holds a bachelor’s degree in studio art from Florida State University and a master’s degree in urban education from Union University through the Memphis Teacher Residency. Additionally, Addie obtained a special education certification through Relay GSE. With 12 years of experience in education, she has taught across multiple grade levels (K–6), served as a mentor teacher and taken on a range of instructional coaching and leadership positions. Throughout her career, she has seen the transformational power of high-quality literacy instruction for students of all ages. With her passion for creativity and inclusive education, Addie is excited to support teachers and leaders in fostering equitable and engaging learning environments for all students. When she’s not at work, Addie enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.
